Terms and Conditions
As a charity seeking and receiving donations from the public, The Hoopoe Bird Foundation aims to comply with the ‘Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising in Ireland’, and to treat all our donors with respect, honesty and openness.
Donors have the right to be assured that their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given and have the right to be informed about the causes for which we fundraise, to be informed about how their donations are being used and to have their names deleted from our mailing lists or databases if so requested. Our policies and practices ensure that any donations received will be used solely to further the aims and activities of The Hoopoe Bird Foundation. Where donations are made for a specific purpose, the donor’s request will be fully honoured, and where not specified, will be used to further the various causes being assisted by the Foundation under its Articles of Association.
All content on the website, such as text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, is the property of The Hoopoe Bird Foundation and is protected by Irish and international copyright and database right laws.
When you place an order to purchase a product from us, we will send you a confirmation e-mail of receipt of order if you have provided us with your valid e-mail address. Your order represents an offer to us to purchase a product; this will be accepted by us only when we send e-mail confirmation to you that we've dispatched that product to you. Details of contents and packaging of products described on our website are subject to change. Stocks are always kept to a minimum but we will advise of any delays in delivery that may arise from time to time.
If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase made in good faith, you can return it to us, but in its original condition, within 30 days of the date you received the item. You are also entitled to a statutory cooling-off period of seven business days. When we have received the returned items in good condition, we will refund you in full.
When ordering goods for delivery overseas you may be subject to import duties and taxes, levied once the package reaches the specified destination. Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you. We have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so you should contact your local customs office or post office for further information. Additionally, please note that when ordering, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.
If you are under 18, you may purchase from us only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
When you visit our website or send us e-mails, you are communicating with us electronically. We communicate with you by e-mail or by posting notices on the website. For contractual purposes, you consent to receive communications from us electronically and you agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. This condition does not affect your statutory rights.
Alteration of Service or Amendments to the Conditions:
We reserve the right to make changes to our website, policies, and these Terms and Conditions of Use at any time. You will be subject to the policies and Terms and Conditions of Use in force at the time that you use the website or that you order goods from us unless any change to those policies or these conditions is required to be made by law or government authority (in which case it will apply to all orders placed by you). If any of these conditions is deemed invalid, void, or for any reason unenforceable, that condition will be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining condition.
Events beyond our reasonable control:
We will not be held responsible for any delay or failure to comply with our obligations under these conditions if the delay or failure arises from any cause which is beyond our reasonable control. This condition does not affect your statutory rights.
If you breach these conditions and we take no action, we will still be entitled to use our rights and remedies in any other situation where you breach these conditions.

All confidential information, including credit card details, are held securely and only transmitted in encrypted form. Customer details are not passed to third parties and are used only in accordance with the Data Protection Act. None of these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory consumer rights.
